ValueVision CEO Keith Stewart called the consumer electronics results disappointing and said the company does not foresee a significant improvement in that category in the upcoming quarters.

The company traced the problem to having not yet hired a director for its consumer electronics category, despite hiring a New York City executive search firm.

However, the company made progress on improving its finances, securing a $40 million revolving credit loan with PNC Bank. The company reported that it used the loan to retire a higher interest $25 million loan, and it paid a $12.5 million deferred obligation to a TV distribution provider.

license agreement with NBCUniversal, a division now of Comcast, to use the NBC name through Jan. 31, 2014. ValueVision will pay $4 million up front and another $2.8 million on May 13, 2013.
